Our SDG classification relies on a proprietary algorithm that processes the organization’s mission statement and impact areas, the NTEE code reported by the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the NTEE code reported by the National Center of Charitable Statistics (NCCS).
In some cases, we enhance the classification using the information provided by an organization’s officer or the data team at GC Insights. Some organizations are associated with multiple SDGs. For example, mitigating root causes of poverty via economic mobility addresses key indicators related to UN SDG 1, 2, and 8.
